A really delicious take on Italian-style dishes. The portions are good sized, so bring an appetite. Cozy dining room with a nice ambiance, plus, Waitsfield is a cool little town.
Top quality food served with a smile in a quaint little restaurant on the Mad River in Waitsfield. I especially like the unique drink and beer selection, the delicious meatball appetizer, and the trout entree.
My favorite restaurant in town. The owner Chris came out and shared some wine with my table and the table next to ours. This is just one example of the hospitality that we experienced throughout our meal. Our server was kind and knowledgable, giving us great recommendations on what to order. Try the pan roasted salmon and the shrimp risotto. It was our first time in Vermont and she even spoke to us about fun things to do in the area. The decor is rustic, cozy and classy, a perfect match for the beautifully curated menu. There was a really good live guitar player in the back room which added to the classy atmosphere. The food was delicious and fresh, everything you look for in a farm to table restaurant. I will definitely look forward to coming back to Peasant on my next trip to Vermont!
Excellent food, excellent service. Fantastic example of a great, small menu dining experience. The cocktails are inventive and delicious as well.
Oh, and don't forget dessert! We had the chocolate ganache cake..great!
