Michelle & crew @ Afterglow are absolutely hands down amazing. Not only did my hairstyle come out perfectly for my wedding (and held all day & night!) She also was able to accommodate me (and my bridesmaids) pretty late in the game. Not being from the area made it challenging to line up wedding vendors in general. After my original hair stylist fell through about a month prior to the wedding, I didn't know what I was going to do. My fiance actually found Afterglow after searching a bit online, so I called & Michelle was able to arrange for a trial very quickly. On the day on of, there was a total of 5 of us who needed hair & makeup. Everyone loved their styles, as well as the unique salon setting. Can't recommend enough! We were married at the Mad River Barn in Waitsfield, Afterglow is about a 7 min drive from the venue (but I believe she also offers a travel to you option)
I'll have to admit, I was a little weary at first finding a salon in "rural" Vermont. I was born and raised outside of NYC, so I am picky and my expectations are very high. When I first heard of Afterglow, I didn't really have my hopes up too high...I thought to myself, well I will give it a try...a hair trial can't hurt! Michelle, the owner of Afterglow Salon,runs her salon and spa which is connected to her home , but it is truly beautiful and calming. Michelle took the time to listen and work with me during my bridal hair trial. I came in with photos that I had in mind and she made sure that at the end, I got what I wanted. She is patient and truly listened to what I had to say and could see the end result (the vision). Many stylists get caught up with their ego and pride and sometimes let that get in the way of what the client really wants or needs. Michelle is unpretentious and so down to earth. Talking to her was like talking to a good friend. The end result surpassed my expectations!! I am beyond amazed at what my hair looked like at the end...I have never felt so beautiful in my life. I cannot wait for my big day and now I can relax and be assured that my hair will look stunning!! Brides, please go to Michelle of Afterglow Day Spa & Salon!! She is TRULY talented!!
Michelle, the owner of Afterglow, did my hair for my daughter's wedding. I met her a few months earlier for a trial run to make sure we were on the same page. I brought lots of photos. She perfectly met my expectations. My up do held for hours and was exactly what I wanted. Michelle is delightful and extremely competent with up dos.
I LOVE Afterglow! Michelle has been doing my hair for over three years now, and I go to Casey for pedicures. I used to live in Boston and have been to plenty of swanky spas on Newbury Street. How fortunate are we in the Mad River Valley to have this talent. The quality results and warm service at Afterglow cannot be matched anywhere. Michelle has a true gift with hair color and styling. Casey's pedicures are the best I have ever had! I am very pleased with their new location - it's an ideal fit for the business and for their customers.
